Owner Bay // Installation Guide

Lock In Your Vault.

Five clear steps. About ten minutes of hands-on setup. Then give the adhesive time to build the bond that keeps your protection system right where it belongs.

Install With Intent.

The adhesive contacts as soon as it meets the trim panel. Take your time during prep and alignment. The work is simple; the order matters.

Cleaning the inner hood ribbing with a lint-free cloth

Step 01 // Prep

Clean The Bonding Rib.

Dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with a 50:50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water. Wipe the approximately 1-inch exterior ribbing immediately inside the oval hood trim panel. Allow the surface to dry completely.

Work around the full perimeter. A clean, dry surface is the foundation of the bond.

Step 02 // Reveal

Peel The Protective Liners.

With the back of your FrunkVault facing you, remove the protective liner from each adhesive-backed 3M Dual Lock attachment point. Keep your fingers off the exposed adhesive.

Once the liners are off, move directly into alignment.

Step 03 // Align

Center Before Contact.

Lift the FrunkVault into the hood cavity with two hands. Carefully check the left, right, top, and bottom edges against the oval trim-panel opening before allowing the adhesive to make contact.

Pause, center, then commit. Good alignment makes the finish feel factory.

Step 04 // Set

Press Every Contact Point.

Keeping one hand near the hood-latch opening, press firmly across each adhesive contact location. Move section by section around the perimeter and maintain deliberate pressure for a total of 60 seconds.

Firm pressure improves adhesive-to-surface contact, especially around the perimeter.

Step 05 // Rest

Let The Bond Build.

Close the hood normally and leave the installation undisturbed. For best adhesion, avoid removing the FrunkVault or placing load on the attachment points for at least 24 hours. The bond continues strengthening for 72 hours.

Do not wedge an object between the frunk bay and hood. A clean install, firm hand pressure, and dwell time do the work.

Pressure Now.
Strength Over Time.

3M's application guide says adhesive bond strength increases with time, pressure, and temperature. At room temperature, the system reaches approximately 90% of its ultimate bond strength after one day.

FrunkVault recommendation:
Give your install a quiet first night. A second undisturbed night is welcome if your schedule allows.

Field Notes

Common Questions.

Can I drive immediately?

The vehicle can be moved after installation. For best bond development, leave the Vault undisturbed and avoid loading or disengaging the attachment points for at least 24 hours.

Do I need overnight bracing?

No. Apply deliberate hand pressure across every contact location, then allow the adhesive to rest. Do not force the hood closed against an object placed in the frunk bay.

Can the panel be removed later?

Yes. The Dual Lock system is reclosable. After the initial rest period, disengage the panel deliberately from an edge. Contact support if you want help before your first removal.
